Policy

As the UK's only institute to be solely dedicated to parks and green spaces, IPGS seeks to shape and influence national, regional and local policy. IPGS works on behalf of its members to present a unified voice Tree lined avenueand persuade authorities at every level to take positive action on policies which relate to, and impact on, the parks and green space sector.

IPGS' Policy Position Statements reflect the collective position of its members on a number of key issues. The statements are formulated through liaison with the Policy Working Group, which all members are invited to join. Once approved, these statements appear here.

ParksMatch

Local authority parks departments are full of highly skilled and knowledgeable staff, but not all local authorities have the same skills and experience - that is why ParksMatch exists.

Developed and administered by IPGS, in partenrship with CABE Space, ParksMatch is a website designed to help you find solutions to a green space or parks related problem and also share stories of your success. ParksMatch encourages you to share green space skills across the country and create mentoring projects. More here.
